Packers and Movers from Delhi to Hyderabad
A long drive to the Deccan
Hyderabad is about 1,540 km from Delhi by road, and household goods usually arrive 5–7 days after loading. For a 2 BHK, most market quotes land within ₹27,000–₹39,000, not counting GST or a car. That figure is a typical rate across movers, so use it as a guide. Skynet prices your move in writing once a surveyor has seen your home.
How the road gets from Delhi to Telangana
Going by the fastest road route on OpenStreetMap, the first 490 km or so are on NE4, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, through Haryana and into Rajasthan. Not all of NE4 is open yet, so trucks fall back on older highways wherever a section isn't finished. Lakheri comes up about 380 km along. The road then crosses Madhya Pradesh, passing near Barwaha in the Narmada valley at around 770 km, and runs a long way through Maharashtra. Hingoli sits roughly 1,150 km from Delhi, and after that the truck crosses into Telangana for the last leg.
Beyond NE4, the biggest share is NH161 at about 360 km. NH752D and NH753L add about 120 km each, and NH53 about 100 km. We load the heaviest furniture against the front wall of the truck and strap it there, because on a run like this it's the long hours of vibration, not one big bump, that loosen a badly stacked load.
What 5–7 days looks like on the calendar
Pure driving time is around 19 hours. Door to door is longer, and a typical 2 BHK plan runs something like this:
- Packing day. The crew wraps and cartons everything and numbers each box on the inventory.
- Loading, then dispatch whenever Delhi allows goods vehicles onto the roads your truck needs.
- Several days on the highway, because trucks keep to lower speeds and drivers rest overnight.
- Arrival in Hyderabad and unloading inside your society's permitted hours.
If you have a joining date, count backwards from it and leave a spare day. People starting jobs in HITEC City or Gachibowli often stay in a serviced apartment for the first week, and that bill is worth weighing against the cost of a faster truck. Our household shifting page explains how packing day runs.
Shared truck
Suits a 1 BHK or a partial load over 1,540 km. You pay only for the space used, but stops for other customers can push delivery toward the end of 5–7 days.
Dedicated truck
Only your goods, loaded at your Delhi gate and unloaded in Hyderabad without transfers. Worth it for a full 2 or 3 BHK when a joining date or hotel bills make every day count.
Is a shared truck fine for Hyderabad?
For a 1 BHK, a bachelor's flat or a partial load, often yes. You pay only for the space you use, and at 1,540 km that saving is real. The truck may collect or drop other customers' goods along the way, so delivery tends to sit at the later end of 5–7 days, and your cartons get shifted around at each stop.
A dedicated truck is the better call when you're moving a full 2 or 3 BHK, when a new job or school term fixes your arrival, or when you own things that shouldn't be restacked by strangers, like a piano, a glass-top dining set or artwork. It goes straight from your Delhi gate to your Hyderabad gate with no transfers. Either way, your move manager confirms the truck type in the written quote so there's no surprise on loading day.
Tolls, papers and company-paid moves
The truck pays tolls through FASTag across six states, and those should already sit inside the freight figure. Goods that are your own household things, not stock for sale, generally don't need a GST e-way bill. Still, a copy of the signed inventory and your ID should travel with the driver in case anyone asks at a checkpoint.
If an employer is paying for your move to Hyderabad, ask HR what they need before you book. Some want the quote approved in advance, and many want a GST invoice in a particular name afterwards. For a car heading to Telangana for good, keep the RC, insurance and PUC copies ready, get an NOC in Delhi and plan for re-registration, or check whether you qualify for a BH series number.
Heat, rain and festival weeks
April and May are hard months on this corridor. Rajasthan and central India bake, and Telangana is just as hot when the truck arrives. Pack medicines, candles, cosmetics and photo albums in your own luggage, and ask for electronics to be loaded away from the truck's sides. From June to September, monsoon rain across Maharashtra and Telangana can slow the highway for a day, and the crew wraps sofas and mattresses in plastic before they leave the room.
December and January mornings bring thick fog around Delhi and Haryana, which delays the first stretch rather than the whole trip. In Hyderabad, the days around Sankranti in January are tricky, since many drivers and helpers travel home. Dasara and Diwali also push demand up, so book two or three weeks ahead for October and November.
NCR towers and new Hyderabad projects
Plenty of people on this route are leaving a high-rise in Gurugram or Noida rather than a Delhi colony. Those societies want a move-out approval from the facility office, a service lift booking and cleared dues before the truck goes. Our Gurugram branch on Mata Mandir Road is close by for the survey, and the Delhi page covers builder floors in the city itself.
At the other end, many families are moving into newly handed-over towers in Kokapet, Tellapur or Narsingi, and interior work often carries on after handover. If carpenters are still in the flat, the truck can't unload properly. Keep a few days of storage in reserve, and check the move-in rules with the new society before we dispatch. There's more on the city in our Hyderabad guide.

Straight answers to the questions customers ask us most.
How much do packers and movers charge from Delhi to Hyderabad?
Typical market rates from Delhi to Hyderabad put a 2 BHK within ₹27,000–₹39,000. A 1 BHK usually falls near ₹18,500–₹26,000, and a 3 BHK near ₹35,000–₹54,000. None of these include GST, vehicles or insurance. For an exact figure, Skynet's surveyor visits for free and the quote arrives in writing with every add-on shown on its own line.
How many days does shifting from Delhi to Hyderabad take?
Plan for 5–7 days from the day your goods are loaded. Actual driving is around 19 hours, but trucks travel slower than cars and drivers need rest, while loading and unloading have to fit Delhi's goods-vehicle hours and your Hyderabad society's move-in slot. A dedicated truck usually arrives sooner than a shared one.
Which states does the truck cross on the way to Hyderabad?
Six, counting Delhi. The fastest route runs through Haryana and Rajasthan, largely on NE4, then crosses Madhya Pradesh near Barwaha and a long stretch of Maharashtra past Hingoli before entering Telangana. Personal household goods don't normally need an e-way bill at those borders, but keep the signed inventory with the driver.
What paperwork do I need if my employer is paying for the move?
Ask HR before you book anything. Many companies want the written quote approved first and a GST invoice in a specific name afterwards, sometimes with the inventory attached. Tell us at the survey whose name should go on the bill, so the documents match what your finance team will ask for later.
When is the hardest time to move from Delhi to Hyderabad?
April and May, mainly because of heat along the whole route and in Telangana itself, which is rough on electronics and anything waxy. Mid-January is awkward too, since many drivers and helpers go home for Sankranti. October and November bring festival demand, so trucks need booking a couple of weeks earlier than usual.
