Is your home in the old city or on SG Highway?

Ask any Amdavadi mover and they'll tell you this city is really two different jobs. West of the Sabarmati you've got the societies and towers around SG Highway, Prahlad Nagar, Bodakdev, Gota, South Bopal and Shela. There, the real work starts a few days before packing. Most societies want a letter from the secretary, a booked service-lift slot and the truck number at the gate. Get the chairman's sign-off early, because it's usually the thing that holds up a Sunday move.

East of the river it's another story. Homes in the pols around Kalupur, Dariapur and Manek Chowk sit on lanes a car can barely turn into, let alone a truck. We pack inside the house, carry cartons out by hand or in a small tempo, and load the big vehicle on the nearest main road. Our surveyor walks the lane during the free pre-move survey, so any shuttle trips are already in your written quote.

One more local thing. A truck can't stand in a BRTS lane, so on those roads we find a side street or society gate to park at instead.

Picking a good date in Amdavad

May is brutal. Afternoons often go past 40°C, and we'd rather start loading at 7 in the morning than leave your TV, medicines and candles sitting in a hot truck at 3 pm. If you have a choice, the months after Diwali through February are easier on everyone.

Festivals matter too. Trucks and crews across Gujarat get booked out in the weeks around Navratri and Diwali, so call us a week or two ahead. And don't plan to shift during Uttarayan in mid-January. The whole city is up on the terraces flying kites, and your society watchman and new neighbours will be busy too.

On the day, keep a small bag aside with jewellery, documents, chargers and a change of clothes. That bag travels with you, not in the truck.

Offices, GIDC units and vehicles

Office moves on Ashram Road, CG Road or in the business towers along SG Highway usually happen over a weekend. Every workstation and its cables get the same label so your team can plug in on Monday. For factories in Naroda, Vatva and Odhav GIDC, or the bigger units out at Changodar and Sanand, the surveyor first lists each machine and its rough weight, and loading is planned around your shift timings.

At home, our own trained staff do the packing. Glass and electronics get 4-layer packing, and sofas are covered in our Fabric Sheet. Cars go on a car carrier, and bikes travel on our Bike Stand, which holds both tyres so the bike can't tip on the highway. If the new flat isn't ready yet, we can keep your goods in storage for a while. For full household loads we often suggest the Trucking Cube, a lockable container where you keep the keys yourself.

How long do moves from Ahmedabad take?

Surat is the closest big run at about 250 km, and goods usually reach in 1–2 days. Mumbai is about 510 km down NH48 through Vadodara and Surat, and takes 2–3 days once loading is done. Pune (about 640 km) and Jaipur (about 650 km) are also 2–3 days. For Delhi, about 970 km away, plan on 3–5 days, and Bengaluru, at about 1,430 km, takes 5–7 days.
