Truck timings come first in Delhi

Before we talk about boxes, we talk about the clock. Heavy trucks aren't allowed on most Delhi roads for a large part of the day, so a big load is usually planned for early morning or late night, or split into smaller vehicles that can run in daytime. In winter, when GRAP curbs kick in because of bad air, some diesel goods vehicles can be stopped at short notice. We check the rules in force that week before locking your date.

Local moves take longer than people expect. Rohini to Dwarka or Mayur Vihar to Saket looks like a morning's work, but with stairs, traffic and unloading it's often a full day. Try to be at the new place by afternoon so someone can tell the crew where things go.

Builder floors, DDA flats and RWA rules

A third-floor builder flat in Lajpat Nagar, Rajouri Garden or Greater Kailash usually means narrow stairs and no lift. The king-size bed, the wardrobe and sometimes the sofa have to be taken apart and carried down in pieces, then put back together at the other end. Tell the surveyor about any glass-top dining table or big mirror, because those need extra hands on a staircase.

DDA flats in Dwarka, Rohini and Mayur Vihar have tight parking, and the RWA or the guard will want to know when a truck is coming. Give them the date and vehicle number a couple of days ahead. In the lanes of Chandni Chowk and much of Old Delhi a truck can't get in at all, so goods go out by hand or in a small vehicle to the main road.

Then there's the weather. May and June go past 40°C, so crews start early. In July and August one heavy shower can flood the underpasses and jam half the city, and we leave some slack in the plan for that.

What about offices, cars and storage?

Offices in Connaught Place, Nehru Place, Okhla and Jasola are usually moved over a weekend, desk by desk, so Monday starts normally. Our office relocation page explains how that works. We also shift machinery and stock from the Okhla, Mayapuri, Naraina and Narela industrial areas.

Your car can travel on a car carrier and your bike on our Bike Stand, but check the car's age before you book. Delhi-NCR has cut-offs for older diesel and petrol vehicles, and if yours is close, sort out the NOC and re-registration first. Breakables get 4-layer packing from our own trained staff, furniture goes under Fabric Sheets, and if you want the whole load sealed away, the Trucking Cube is a lockable container and you hold its keys. If you need storage between homes, we can arrange that. For NCR jobs, our branch on Satguru Enclave Road in Gurugram is nearby.

Distances from Delhi to other cities

Chandigarh and Jaipur are each about 270 km and take 1–2 days. Lucknow is about 490 km, usually 2–3 days. Mumbai (about 1,320 km) and Kolkata (about 1,460 km) take 5–7 days, and Bengaluru, at about 2,020 km, takes 6–9 days.
