What's covered in an intercity move?

When your goods are going hundreds or even thousands of kilometres, they need more protection and more planning than a shift across town. We keep all of it with one team, so you're not coordinating packers, a transporter and a separate labour crew yourself.

A typical domestic move with us includes packing (each item according to its shape and size), loading, road transport, unloading, and unpacking and setting things up at the new place. You can add car transport or bike transport, and storage for the gap between moving out and moving in. For companies we also do office relocation and industrial packing.

How we plan it

1. Free pre-move survey. Our field officer lists your goods, notes things like lifts and staircases, and helps you decide what can and can't be moved.
2. Written quote. You get it in writing before you book, so you know exactly what's included.
3. Packing day. Our own staff do 4-layer packing and label every carton clearly.
4. Loading and transit. The truck is loaded with care, and your move manager keeps you posted while it's on the road.
5. Delivery. We unload, unpack and put things where you want them.

Keeping things safe over long distances

Most damage on a long route comes from vibration and from goods shifting about inside the truck. Every extra round of handling adds to the risk as well.

We deal with this through 4-layer packing, careful stacking and packing tools we designed ourselves. Crockery and fragile pieces go into the Perfect Box. Furniture is wrapped in the Fabric Sheet, and two-wheelers ride on the Bike Stand. The people doing the packing are our employees, not labour hired for the day, so they've been trained in how we work.

Nobody can rule out a road accident or a flood on the way. That's why we suggest transit insurance for intercity moves, and it's offered as an option with every quote.

Some practical advice. Book two to four weeks ahead, and earlier if your date falls at month-end or in festival season. Pack a separate bag with valuables, documents and daily essentials and keep it with you. Update your address with the bank, the gas agency and other service providers, and ask for school transfer certificates if the children are changing schools.
