Packers and Movers from Delhi to Pune

Five states, one written plan

Quick answer

Shifting from Delhi to Pune means about 1,320 km on the road and usually 5–7 days from loading day to delivery. Typical market quotes for a 2 BHK fall around ₹31,000–₹45,000, excluding GST and vehicles. Your actual price depends on volume, truck type and access at both homes, and Skynet puts it in writing after a free survey.

The fastest road from Delhi to Pune

On OpenStreetMap's fastest route, the truck spends its first 490 km or so on NE4, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, heading out through Haryana into Rajasthan. Work on some parts of NE4 is still going on, so the driver joins the older highways where a section isn't open. Sawai Madhopur is about 330 km from Delhi. The road then climbs onto the Malwa plateau in Madhya Pradesh, passing Ujjain at around 660 km, and drops into north Maharashtra near Dhule at roughly 990 km. From there it's the Deccan the rest of the way to Pune.

After NE4, the longest pieces are NH52 at about 250 km, NH752D at about 120 km, NH753F at about 110 km and NH160 at about 80 km. The last few kilometres are often the slowest. Long-haul trucks can't enter many Pune roads at busy hours, so drivers sometimes wait at the edge of the city before heading in to your society.

Sixteen hours of driving, 5–7 days door to door

Add up the pure driving time and you get about 16 hours. Nobody moves a house that fast, though. These are the things that stretch it:

  • Loading can't always happen the same morning the crew packs, especially for a 3 BHK.
  • A big truck waits for the hours when Delhi lets it through, then again for Pune's city roads.
  • Goods vehicles are slower than cars, and drivers stop to sleep.
  • Shared trucks make detours for other customers' pickups and drops.
  • Your Pune society decides which hours and days unloading is allowed.

What shortens it is simple enough. Book a dedicated truck, get the society permissions sorted at both ends before loading day and be reachable when the driver calls from the outskirts. If your flat in Pune isn't ready yet, our storage can hold the load for a few days or weeks.

Shared truck

Good for a student, a single professional or a small 1 BHK heading to Pune. You pay for the space used on a 1,320 km run, and delivery can take longer while the truck fills.

Dedicated truck

Best for families with a fixed reporting or school date. The truck carries only your goods, leaves Delhi straight away and unloads at your Pune society without any transfers on the way.

When does a shared truck make sense to Pune?

Plenty of people heading to Pune are young professionals starting jobs in Hinjewadi, Kharadi or Magarpatta, often with a bed, a few cartons and a bike. For them, a shared truck is usually the sensible choice. You pay for a slice of the truck rather than all of it, and a few extra days don't matter much when you're staying with friends or in a PG to start.

Families are a different case. With a school admission date, a lease starting on a fixed day or a posting with a reporting date, the waiting time on a shared truck starts to cost money elsewhere. A dedicated truck leaves Delhi once your things are in and doesn't stop for anyone else's load, so there's less handling and less guesswork about the arrival day.

Cantonment passes, tolls and vehicle papers

Both cities have large cantonment areas. If you're loading at Delhi Cantonment or moving into Pune Camp, Khadki or another cantonment area, the truck may need entry permission from the station or estate office. Apply early and share the vehicle number and crew names with us once you have the format.

On the highway, tolls go through FASTag and should be inside the freight price. Personal household goods don't usually need a GST e-way bill, but a signed packing list and your ID copy should ride with the driver. Cars travel on a carrier with RC, insurance and PUC copies, and a vehicle settling in Maharashtra for good will need an NOC from Delhi and re-registration, or a BH series number if you're eligible. Two-wheelers go on our Bike Stand, which holds both tyres.

Weather between the capital and the Deccan

May is the toughest month. Rajasthan and the Malwa plateau are scorching, so wax, medicines, cosmetics and vinyl should travel with you, not in a closed truck. The monsoon reaches Pune in June and keeps going until September, with rain across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra too. Cartons get plastic wrapping, and unloading pauses in a heavy shower rather than carrying wet boxes up the stairs.

December and January bring dense fog around Delhi, mostly slowing the early part of the drive. In Pune, Ganeshotsav in August or September fills the streets for ten days, particularly around the old city, and delivery on immersion day is best avoided. Diwali and month-end weeks are the busiest for trucks, so book those dates well ahead.

A Delhi society out, a Pune society in

Group housing societies in Dwarka, Patparganj and Vasundhara Enclave usually want notice before a truck comes in, and some close the gate to goods vehicles at night. If you're in a builder floor instead, see our Delhi moving page for how stairs and narrow lanes are handled.

In Pune, the society office often wants a move-in letter and a lift slot, and tenants may be asked to show their police verification before the goods come up. Get that done before dispatch. Newer townships in Wakad, Ravet and Wagholi can have long walks from the truck bay to the tower, which the surveyor factors into crew size. Our Pune page has more on local society rules.

Delhi to Pune move: frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions customers ask us most.

How much do packers and movers charge from Delhi to Pune?

At typical market rates, a Delhi to Pune move costs around ₹20,000–₹28,000 for a 1 BHK, ₹31,000–₹45,000 for a 2 BHK and ₹38,000–₹62,000 for a 3 BHK. GST, vehicle transport and insurance come on top. Those are market estimates, not our rate card, and Skynet quotes in writing once the surveyor has seen your home.

How many days does shifting from Delhi to Pune take?

Most moves take 5–7 days, counted from loading day. A car needs only about 16 hours of driving in total, but a loaded truck runs slower, stops for driver rest, and has to fit Delhi's truck windows plus Pune's city and society timings. Dedicated trucks usually deliver toward the earlier end of that range.

Which way does the truck go from Delhi to Pune?

Usually along the fastest mapped route. It starts on NE4 through Haryana and Rajasthan for about 490 km, passes Sawai Madhopur, crosses Madhya Pradesh near Ujjain and enters Maharashtra near Dhule. Parts of NE4 are still under construction, so drivers switch to older highways where needed, and the final approach depends on Pune's truck entry rules.

Do I need a pass to move into a Pune cantonment area?

Often, yes. Truck entry into cantonment or defence housing areas usually needs permission from the station or estate office, and the same can apply when you load at Delhi Cantonment. Apply early, send us the format, and we'll fill in the truck number and crew details so the pass is ready before dispatch.

Is Ganeshotsav a bad time to shift into Pune?

It can be. During the ten days of Ganeshotsav, parts of Pune see heavy crowds and road closures, especially around the old city, and immersion day is the hardest. A delivery to Hinjewadi or Kharadi is usually still workable. Just avoid the busiest days and leave some slack in the plan.
