Packers and Movers from Bangalore to Hyderabad

Three states, one long straight highway

Quick answer

Bangalore to Hyderabad is about 560 km by road, mostly on NH44, and a household move usually takes 2–3 days door to door. The driving itself is around eight hours, and the rest goes on loading, city traffic and move-in slots. Typical market rates for a 2BHK are ₹16,500–₹30,000. NH44 through Andhra Pradesh

It's about 560 km by road, and the fastest road route stays on NH44 for roughly 430 km of that. The highway heads north out of Bangalore past the airport, crosses Andhra Pradesh, enters Telangana and reaches Hyderabad from the south. Three states, but hardly a turn worth mentioning.

Penukonda is about 140 km in, Gooty lies a little off the road near the 280 km mark, and Kothakota comes up at roughly 420 km, by which point you're in Telangana. In between is the dry Rayalaseema country of the Deccan plateau, open and rocky, with long straight stretches and scattered granite hills. The highway is wide and divided for most of the way, with no ghat sections, so a loaded truck keeps a steady pace. The hard parts of this move are summer heat and the traffic at each end, not the road.

Eight hours of driving, two to three days overall

Eight hours is the driving time on a clear road. A loaded truck is slower than that, the driver needs breaks, and much of the time is spent before and after the highway. A typical 2BHK move looks like this.

  1. Day one. Packing in Bangalore, often finishing with loading in the evening if the association allows it.
  2. Day two. The run north with rest stops. From the south or east of Bangalore, just reaching the airport road can eat a good part of the morning.
  3. Day three. Unloading in Hyderabad within the community's move-in hours, usually in the morning.

A small load in a dedicated truck can be quicker, and a shared truck can take longer. If you're starting a new job, leave at least a day between the expected delivery and your first day at the office.

Shared truck

Sensible for a 1BHK or a room's worth of things if your joining date has slack. Part loads fill steadily on this corridor, but other drops in Hyderabad can add a day or two.

Dedicated truck

The safer pick when a joining date is fixed. It leaves once you're loaded, runs straight up NH44 and unloads within your community's move-in slot, with nobody else's goods aboard.

Should you share a truck on this route?

Sharing works well here for small loads. The corridor carries a steady stream of IT and student moves in both directions, so part loads tend to fill reasonably quickly. For a 1BHK, a single room or a few pieces of furniture it's the cheaper option, as long as you can live with an extra day or two and the truck making other Hyderabad drops before yours.

A dedicated truck fits better when the date is fixed, and on this corridor it often is, because people are moving for a joining date. It leaves when your goods are in and comes straight to your gate with nothing else on board. Monitors, a desktop tower and other fragile kit go into our Perfect Box cartons whichever truck you pick.

Paperwork, tolls and your car across three states

Tolls on NH44 are paid by FASTag. A household move for personal use doesn't normally need a GST e-way bill, but keep the packing list and your ID handy, since the truck crosses two state borders. For a car, the list is a little longer.

  • Copies of the RC, insurance and PUC go with the car onto the carrier.
  • A Karnataka-registered car has already paid lifetime road tax there. After re-registering it in Telangana, ask the Karnataka RTO whether you can get the unused part refunded.
  • Government staff, and people working for a private company with offices in four or more states, may be able to take a BH series number instead.
  • Bikes and scooters ride on our Bike Stand, fixed by both tyres.

See the car transport page for how carrier loading works.

Summer heat on the Deccan, and the easier months

April and May are the tough months. The Rayalaseema stretch around Penukonda and Gooty gets very hot, and a closed steel truck body gets hotter still. Pack medicines, cosmetics, candles, chocolates and printer ink separately and carry them in your car or bag. Laptops and hard drives are better in your hand luggage anyway. Loading starts early, so the crew isn't carrying cartons down at midday.

The monsoon, roughly June to September, is gentler on this route than on the west coast, though thunderstorms can be fierce while they last. November to February is the most comfortable time to move. Watch out for Sankranti in mid-January and the weeks from Dasara to Diwali, when a lot of drivers go home to their villages and trucks get harder to book.

From a Bangalore tower to a Hyderabad community

NH44 leaves Bangalore to the north, past Hebbal and the airport. If you live in Hebbal, Yelahanka, Thanisandra or Jakkur, the truck is on the highway quickly. From Electronic City, HSR Layout, Sarjapur Road or Whitefield it first has to crawl across the city, and heavy-vehicle limits can hold it until they lift. Ask your association for a lift slot early in the day, so the truck isn't crossing town in evening traffic. The Bangalore page covers the move-out paperwork.

At the other end the highway arrives from the south near Hyderabad's airport, and the Outer Ring Road runs from there round to Gachibowli, Kokapet, Narsingi and the Financial District. That's handy, since many people on this route are headed to exactly those areas. Kompally, Secunderabad and Uppal take longer, because the truck has to loop around the east or go through the city. Gated communities on the west side often want the truck number and crew list in advance, as our Hyderabad page explains.

Bangalore to Hyderabad move: frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions customers ask us most.

How much do packers and movers charge from Bangalore to Hyderabad?

Market estimates put a 1BHK at about ₹12,000–₹18,000, a 2BHK at ₹16,500–₹30,000 and a 3BHK at ₹23,000–₹44,000, before GST and vehicle transport. Where you fall in those ranges depends on volume, packing, lifts at both buildings and whether you share a truck. Skynet's own price comes as a written quote after a free survey.

How many days does shifting from Bangalore to Hyderabad take?

Expect 2–3 days door to door. About eight hours of that is driving on NH44, and the rest covers loading within your association's hours, the slow run out of Bangalore and a move-in slot in Hyderabad. A shared truck may take a little longer. You'll get the delivery window in writing before loading.

Which parts of Hyderabad are quickest to reach from Bangalore?

The west. The highway reaches Hyderabad from the south, and the Outer Ring Road leads almost directly to Gachibowli, Kokapet, Narsingi and the Financial District. Kompally, Secunderabad and Uppal need a longer run around or through the city, so the truck reaches those gates later in the day, or the next morning.

Can I use a BH series number when moving my car to Hyderabad?

You may. BH series registration is open to government and defence staff, and to employees of private companies with offices in four or more states or union territories. If you don't qualify, re-register the car in Telangana, and ask the Karnataka RTO about refunding the unused part of the lifetime road tax you paid there.

Is summer a bad time to shift from Bangalore to Hyderabad?

It's harder, not impossible. April and May bring intense heat on the Rayalaseema stretch, and a closed truck gets very hot inside. We load early, and you should carry medicines, cosmetics, candles and laptops yourself. If your dates are flexible, November to February is far more comfortable for everyone, crew included.
